Microsoft Windows 7: A definite Replacement Option for Vista

windows 7 versionsWindows 7 has finally launched, and there has been questions permeating all over as to the advantages Windows 7 wields over the notorious Microsoft Vista.

So, let’s pry open the features of Windows 7 and check out the advantages that Microsoft boasts it offers over Vista.

Windows 7 Desktop Enhancement

Windows 7 contains a new feature called Snaps.

This feature will allow you to grab a window and pull it to one side of the screen, and it will automatically resize the window you’re trying to compare.

No more manually resizing windows yourself in order to compare them at the same time.

Faster Search with Windows 7

In Windows 7, searching is made easier and faster. When performing a search you can now instantly view documents relevant to your search, since results are grouped in categories.

And since files are not always stored in the same place, the new robust search features also search of external hard drivers, other networked computers, and libraries.

If the search you’re performing is too broad, you can always narrow the search by date, file type, and a selection of other categories.

Windows 7 Taskbar

Windows 7 taskbar is easier and more flexible than ever before. To get a better view of an application or document in the taskbar, move the mouse over the thumbnail to preview the window full-screen. Or close windows from the thumbnail previews and save time!

Two features worth mentioning in the taskbar are Aero Peek and Aero Shake.

Aero Peek allows you to see clear through to the Windows 7 desktop just by pointing to the right edge of the taskbar. The open windows turn transparent revealing the hidden icons and gadgets.

Aero Shake allows you to focus on a single window instead all the clutter of windows that open on your desktop. All you have to do is click on a pane and slightly rattle your mouse. The only window that survives the shake is the one you shook! Shake the window again and your clutter is back.

Better device management with Windows 7

Interacting with your devices just got easier! Windows 7 integrates a new feature called Device Stage.

A user-friendly feature, you can actually see and work with your devices easier. You can see pictures of each device and what’s in it and run common tasks. You can see the photos in your camera, or all the music you have on your MP3 player.

View Available Network (VAN) with Windows 7

You can now connect and view your network consistently and easily.

You can interchange networks with just a click of a button. You want to change from Wi-Fi to a corporate network? VAN makes that possible and quick!

Windows 7 Homegroup

HomeGroup has simplified sharing hosts on a home network.

You can start sharing pictures, videos, documents, and music immediately when you connect PC’s and printers within a home network, without compromising privacy. HomeGroup is password-protected, so that you can decide who gets to share your resources and what they get to see.

Performance of Windows 7

So, why even bother to download updates to fix Vista? Test and proven, Windows 7’s performance is faster.

From shut down to startup, to application shut down and launch and disk performance, there’s no doubt that Windows 7 is the choice over Windows Vista.

With its new robust features and faster performance than Microsoft Vista, there is no question why everyone shouldn’t upgrade to Windows 7. Good bye, Vista. Good bye.
